A Recipe for Lasagna, a Classic Dinner to Share with Family and Friends

Lasagna is a fairly easy delicious dinner that can feed lots of people. It is great for dinner for your family and is a classic that everyone should know how to make. This recipe is worth the time it takes to make and worth all the ingredients you need to make it. With lasagna, it is also easy to put your own twist on it. 

What You Will Need: 

9×13 pan 

A few different size bowls 

Ingredients: 

12 Lasagna noodles

4 cups mozzarella cheese

½ cup parmesan cheese

½ pound ground beef

½ pound Italian sausage

1 diced onion 

2 cloves of minced garlic

36 ounce of tomato pasta sauce

2 tablespoons tomato paste 

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 cups ricotta cheese

¼ cup parsley 

1 beaten egg 

The first step is to heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is heating up, cook your lasagna noodles according to the box instructions and rinse under cold water and set them aside. Next mix together the ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, and garlic and cook until there is no pink on the meat, then drain any fat. After that, stir in the pasta sauce tomato paste and Italian seasoning to the meat and simmer for 5 minutes. 

While the sauce is simmering start making the cheese mixture. Combine 1 ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese with ¼ cup of parmesan cheese and add the ricotta, parsley, and egg and mix until it’s thoroughly combined. Then add one cup of your pasta sauce to the bottom of your 9×13 pan. Once the first cup of sauce is even, spread add 3 of the lasagna noodles to the pan and layer with ⅓ of the cheese mix and another cup of the pasta sauce. Repeat two more times and then add the last 3 noodles to the top with the remaining sauce. 

Cover the lasagna with foil and bake for 45 minutes. When the 45 minutes is up uncover and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top and then either put it in the broiler for 2-3 minutes or bake for another 15. Then let the lasagna rest for about 15 minutes before serving and then enjoy. 

I made this recipe for my aunt’s family and my family everyone enjoyed it. This recipe makes a good amount of lasagna so we had lasagna for the next few nights as well. This recipe will be great for when we can start having gatherings again because there is so much food to go around. We paired the lasagna with some garlic bread and caesar salad and it was delicious.
