On the seventeenth of February Nintendo had their first director of the year. It has been quite a while since the last official Nintendo direct due to Covid 19 and the restrictions that come with it. Nintendo fans were hoping for a lot of different things and updates on several different releases because of the long break. With all that said let’s go over the ten most popular things gone over in the direction.
As the Direct started we went straight into a trailer about the newest DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Coming from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Pyra and Mythra are the newest fighters that will get the chance to prove their skills in a smash with a release date coming sometime in March.
The next big game making its way onto the Nintendo Switch is Fall Guys, which made its debut on the console. Fall Guys is a multiplayer battle royale in which you play rounds on different maps and try to not get eliminated. The release date on the Switch is set for sometime this Summer.
Set to release on March 26th, 2021, Monster Hunter Rise is the 6th mainline installment into the Monster Hunter series. Made by Capcom, it is an upcoming action role-playing game where you can defend your village from terrible monsters attacking.
The newest Mario Golf game was also announced during the Direct. In this game, you will be able to tee off against your friends in an epic fast-paced golf game, where not only your score matters. You will race to finish the hole as fast as possible while also trying to get as few strokes as possible. There is also a story mode where you can upgrade things like power or accuracy to increase your golfers’ skills and play how you want. Mario Golf: Super Rush is set to release on June 25th, 2021.
Animal Crossing is getting a huge Mario-themed update. There will be new clothes where you can dress up like Mario and Luigi, pipes that will teleport you to another place on your island. And many new decorations like the flag at the end of a Mario level all coming soon to Animal Crossing.
We were given a sneak peek at a big new shooter coming to the switch. Star Wars Huntersares coming to the Switch in late 2021 which is one of the first Star Wars games set to be on the Nintendo Switch.
The popular game Hades is making a journey from the underworld to the switch where it will release as a hard copy game with a book of in-depth lore of all the characters as well as collectibles.
Another acclaimed battle royale, Apex Legends is also making its way onto the Switch on March 9th, 2021. You will be able to drop onto the island as many different legends all with special abilities where you will battle it out to see who is the best.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword originally released on the Nintendo Wii is finally coming to the Switch in HD. An action-adventure game where you go on quests to defeat bosses will be coming to the switch on July 16th, 2021.
The last thing we got teased with during the direction, since it was ending they announced one more trailer. Splatoon 3 was announced to come sometime in 2022 as the next core game in the Splatoon Series.
With all these releases we are excited for more cool releases from Nintendo.
