It’s an exciting time for American football fans as we get into week 13 of the 2020 NFL season. As we get closer and closer to the championship 32 teams will battle each other for the remaining weeks to hopefully claim a spot for their team in the Super Bowl for the league’s 101st NFL season. Though altercations with Covid-19 have slowed the season’s schedule the NFL won’t let this stop them from getting through their already promised season. Strict regulations must occur every practice and game such as each player must get their temperature taken and sanitize equipment before and after using it. A new report came out last week saying all players must wear a mask if you are sitting on the sideline during a game, only players with helmets on who is about to go in the game can take their mask off. At the beginning of November, there were 15 players affected with the virus and were placed on the NFL Covid-19 IR list which shows players on leave affected with the virus.
The NFL Covid-19 IR list was updated 5 days ago stating now 36 players are affected with the virus and for now are not playing in the 2020 season. The following players (along with the date they had to leave) are NFL players who are infected with the virus and are placed on leave: Pernell McPhee, LB, Ravens-November 24. Joe Jackson, DE, Browns-November 24. Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens-November 27. Morgan Cox, LS, Ravens-November 27. Patrick Ricard, RB, Ravens-November 27. Justin Madubuike, DT, Ravens-November 27. Diontae Spencer, WR, Broncos-November 27. Isaiah Buggs, DE, Steelers-November 27. Jerald Hawkins, T, Steelers-November 27. Stephon Tuitt, DE, Steelers-November 27. James Conner, RB, Steelers-November 28. A.Q. Shipley, C, Bucs-November 28. Vita Vea, NT, Bucs-November 28. Chris Jackson, DB, Titans-November 28. Terron Armstead, T. Saints-November 28. Derrick Kelly, G, Saints-November 39. Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens-November 30. Terrell Bonds, DB, Ravens-November 30. Matt Judon, LB, Ravens-November 30. Willie Snead, WR, Ravens-November 30. Yetetur Gross-Matos, DE, Panthers-November 30. Julian Edelman, WR, Patriots-November 30. Geno Stone, DB, Ravens-December 2. Maurkice Pouncey, C, Steelers-December 2. Tanner Muse, LB, Raiders-December 3. All these players are recovering from the virus and will hopefully be playing back on their team before the season ends
This coming Thursday, December the 10, Week 14 of the 2020 NFL season starts along with 14 more games on Sunday. The schedule for this week’s matchup is the Patriots vs Rams on Thursday, then Sunday the Vikings vs the Buccaneers, Cardinals vs Giants, Chiefs vs Dolphins, Titans vs Jaguars, Cowboys vs Bengals, Texans vs Bears, Broncos vs Panthers, Jets vs Seahawks, Colts vs Raiders, Washington Football Team vs 49ers, Saints vs Eagles, Falcons vs Chargers, Packers vs Lions, Steelers vs Bills, and on Monday the last game of week 14 is fought between the Ravens and the Browns on Monday, December 14th. These teams will battle for a victorious spot as they bash and smash their way into the playoffs as only 14 teams are allowed to advance. Right now the Chiefs & Steelers are in first place with 11 wins and 1 loss, considering that the Chiefs beat the Steelers in the game between them that makes the Chiefs the number one football team right now for the 2020 NFL season. So far the Jets have not won one game putting them with a score of 0-12 for their game win to lose ratio. As the weeks heat up and the games get more intense to watch to where you’re on the edge of your seat, there’s no telling what could happen this year or what surprises might occur.
