Many new movies continue to come out on popular streaming services such as Netflix or Hulu. Here are some of the most popular movies and TV Shows during the quarantine.
Netflix’s Top 10 list shows that several children/family movies have been much more popular during the stay at home orders, such as the Despicable Me franchise. Other favorites include the easter movie Hop and sequels to other hit movies such as The Incredibles 2, Angry Birds 2, and The Secret Life of Pets 2.
Several TV shows are also rising in popularity on Netflix. New shows like The Tiger King are clearly going to be hits due to their exclusivity and because they’re fresh new content. Several animes are also rising in popularity as of late, like Netflix’s The Seven Deadly Sins and more wide stream anime like Naruto or Haikyuu.
Of course, Netflix isn’t the only platform to watch movies on. Hulu also features a wide variety of shows and movies to choose from. However, their demographic is slightly different from Netflix’s. It seems like Hulu users prefer action or horror movies, like 2019’s A Quiet Place or 2018’s Mission: Impossible Fallout. Other hits on Hulu include the foreign Parasite.
Finally, Disney+ has a ton of movies to choose from. Despite being a relatively new service, Disney simply already had a huge catalog of content. Marvel movies like Avengers Endgame and Captain Marvel are getting more watch time from their viewers as of late, as well as older movies like the first Avengers movie. Disney+ also includes the Pixar movies that Disney helped develop. The most popular ones on there are the newest 2020 release, Onward, as well as Toy Story 4. Of course, Disney’s own movies like Frozen 2 and the Lion King remake are high in popularity.
All in all, there are a ton of movies to choose from several different services to stream them on, with different selections on each service. With the recent outbreak, everyone has to find stuff to do at home without getting bored. Therefore, it’s no big surprise that all these movies and TV shows are so popular!
