Boy’s Varsity Polo Remains Undefeated with 7-0

The Boys Varsity Water Polo team has had a very successful season so far, going undefeated with a league record of 7-0. It has been the best season that SLV Boys Water Polo program has experienced since the beginning of the program. “We went undefeated the first half, but now in the second half we need to work even harder,” states Xander Krikke. Krikke has a lot of faith in his team to work together to complete the second half of the season on a high note.

A team needs to be cohesive and so far they have done a great job of doing that and it shows in their wins. The Varsity Boys Water Polo Coach, Aidan McCown, is very proud and excited to see what the second half of the season will bring them. “Aidan is hard on the team, but it’s what makes us perform better,” says team captain Aiden Le Roux. The type of coaching style is designed to push the athletes to do their best. The team agrees with the more intense coaching style because it helps them with their more aggressive type of play. A utility player, Brodi Williams says they have learned how to “push through the pain and tiredness.”

One can tell these boys have been pushing and battling every match and clearly, it’s paying off. They have had several hard opponents such as the Hollister Haybalers and have managed to push through and come out with a win every time. With this, the team looks like they’re on track to take home the win in CCS.
