The Girls Varsity Volleyball season started Wednesday August 30th against the Santa Teresa Saints. Though the volleyball team didn’t finish with a winning record last year, Sophomore middle, Kaelynn Gregory said she thinks that the girls, “have a good chance if they work hard and have a positive attitude.”

The SLV Girls Varsity Volleyball team also has a new head coach: Rachel Gregory. When Junior Defensive Specialist Cassidy White was asked how her new coach was different, she said, “Rachel definitely pushes us more us than our last coches.” This year is emphasizing working as a team, having a positive attitude, and putting in effort.
Freshman, Middle Blocker, Hailey Lang believes, “With Rachel’s coaching we’ll be good this year.” The girls have high hopes, saying if they work hard as a team they can go pretty far this season. Following a loss to the Santa Teresa Saints, the girls bounced back and won two out of their three games at home against Kirby School. Things are looking good for the girls as they prepare for the rest of the season.
