The Spring sports season has come back around again and with it comes the sounds of volleyball inside of the gym.

Everyone on the team is looking forward to a very exciting season ahead of them. This year’s volleyball team is extremely young, but despite the youth, the boys are full of optimism. As Senior Nick Salibi puts it, “It is a young team but they were all on Varsity last year so they are all experienced. They are coming off a scrimmage against Monta Vista where they won three sets to none so we have some positive movement forward.”

The team is really coming together and a lot of it can be credited to the coaching staff and their ability to turn potential into reality.

Sophomore Liam Teviet says, “The biggest strength of this team is that we have great coaches that know the game really well and all of us are really athletic. The skill may not be there quite yet, but we have the athletic potential to accomplish a lot this year.”

The belief that they can win is present all throughout the team, and the positive energy also stems from the coaching staff, Coach Gorman laid it all out, “I think we have a shot at competing for league this year.

I feel that we have the ability to compete with the teams this year in league as well as the determination to work hard and if we all can put it together and become a unit, we could possibly come out with a league championship.”

With the optimistic outlook on the season ahead of them, and their determination to work hard, it seems that it is safe to say that the boys volleyball team has the potential to have a really good season, and we will be there to support them all throughout the year.
