Golf has just begun and they are working hard to keep up with the competition. The team did very well last year. In fact, they did better than the team has ever done in past years. The team had one person make it to CCS last year: T.J. Matsuaka.
They have had two matches so far against Harbor High School and Scotts Valley High. Harbor High’s golf team has been pretty good throughout the years and gave our SLV Cougars some good competition. Though SLV was only eight strokes away from Harbor, they did not have as much luck on the Pasatiempo course against Scotts Valley.
In High School golf they play nine holes instead of a full 18 hole course. SLV practices at the Boulder Creek golf course. Sometimes the team also plays at the De Laveaga. They only play the front nine, which consists of par fours and par threes. They usually have matches on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
