Girls golf has begun with a drive onto the green. The team consists of 4 players including senior player, Maddy Cope, juniors Ava Badger and Amanda Rinnert and lastly sophomore, Jillian Francis. The team is coached by Sophomore English teacher, Mr. Shane Sutcliffe. The girls golf team is unlike other sports where it is separated into Varsity and Junior Varsity. The girls all play together on both home and away courses.
The girls have had some matches already, the first being a game against the Aptos Mariners at our home field where Sutcliffe said they, “shot very low scores for being such a young team, they were a little nervous for their first few games but we have done some practice rounds so they are learning to know when to use the different clubs and what kind of touch they need in certain shots.”
The upcoming matches are the 1st, 6th, and 8th of October at Boulder Creek Country Club, and the Delaveaga Golf Course. At the match on the 1st they will be going against the Soquel Knights, while on the 6th it will be the Harbor Pirates and then lastly on the 8th they will being going up against the Scotts Valley Falcons.
