It’s that time of the year again, when you hear children shrieking in delight as they run from house to house with their candy bags swinging in their hand. People both young and old dress up as their favorite characters, whether it be the fabulous Marilyn Monroe or a scary Grimm Reaper . However as we get older, trick-or-treating is not as much of a treat anymore. Luckily, here in San Lorenzo Valley We live right next door to the always wonderfully weird Santa Cruz. Here are some Halloween events for those that find trick-or- treating a little tedious this year.
Ready to rock at a Halloween Party?
The Haunted Metal Bash,will have music-by the AC/DC tribute band Powerage and The Terry Lauderdale Band. This event will be a costume party so come in your Halloween best!

The Capitola Village is throwing a spooky Halloween parade.
When: October 31 at 2:00pm
Where: The parade starts off at Pacific Cove Parking Lot, behind City Hall, on Capitola Ave, Capitola.

Are costume party’s your thing? Then cruise down to Crow’s Nest Halloween Costume Party!
What: A costume bash, featuring rock band The Billy Martini Show.
When: October 31 at 9:30pm

Are you brave enough to venture into a Haunted House? The Trout Farm in Zayante has created a spooky haunted house for all ages this year.
When: October 4 – 31 6:00-9:00pm
Where:The Trout Farm Inn, 7701 E. Zayante Road, Felton
The cost: $2.30 per person, with $1 for hot chocolate

We all know these lyrics from “This is Halloween” in “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.
Join the fun at the Rio Theatre, for a Nightmare Before Christmas singalong! There will be prizes for the scariest and most original costumes, and the funds raised at this event will go to the Performing Arts education for community youth.
