The San Lorenzo Valley softball team has come to a start after February’s two-week long tryout. Although the girls haven’t started league, the season is looking promising.
The first non-league game for Varsity was an away game on February 26th versus Willow Glen, which SLV won. Varsity has also played Watsonville, King City, North Monterey County and Soledad.
The Varsity team is doing well this season and is planning on making up for last year’s performance. This year there is a lot of skill, focus, dedication and passion which forecast a victorious season.
Not only is there an abundance of skill on the team, the girls all get along exceptionally well this year. The sportsmanship and amount off good teamwork this season is unlike previous years and has improved the quality of the sport. Every Wednesday, there is a barbecue for the JV and Varsity players and brings the team together very well.
The JV players have experienced this also. They work hard and support each other, and it’s noticeable. They play hard every game and are eager to improve. Their first league game is March 25th, and the first league game for Varsity is March 20th.
